FORT MORGAN DOWNTOWN INFRASTRUCTURE - PHASE 1
FORT MORGAN, CO
The City of Fort Morgan selected ECI to overhaul the city's main thoroughfare, above and below ground, to alleviate street flooding during storm events and beautify two blocks of the downtown area. The $3.3 million project was completed in just 88 days and was sequenced to keep the downtown businesses open and minimize traffic congestion. ECI solicited and hired local subcontractors who were instrumental to keep the project on schedule and performed 26% of the total construction. This project included installation of waterline, storm drain, concrete sidewalks, 17,000 square feet of permeable pavers, flyash sub-grade stabilization and asphalt roadways, in addition to all beautification of the downtown area. In January of 2010, the Fort Morgan Downtown Improvement Project was recipient of the 2009 Colorado American Public Works Association (APWA) Project of the Year Award.
